On paper, the Oskia Rose de Mai Massage Candle and I weren’t destined to be the best of friends – I’m not a huge fan of massages and I have an on/off liking of rose scents (I once bought a 100ml bottle of Jo Malone Red Roses cologne in a ‘on’ moment only to have to give it to my mother a month later, 7/8 full). However, Mr Mouse gave me this beauty about a year and it’s been love ever since.
If rose makes you think of traditional old-fashioned scents, think again. This is a dreamy rose, somehow sexy at the same time as being relaxing and delicate. It’s gorgeous, and so is the candle itself: made from soy and coconut oils, along with beeswax, it’s incredibly moisturising without being heavy on the skin. Just let it burn for 15-20 minutes, blow it out, and let it cool slightly before massaging it in to both body and face for nourished skin which smells and feels for hours.
To be honest, it’s possibly too good to share so I’m being rather generous allowing Mr Mouse to give me a massage with it occasionally, no?
