Spring nails – Ciaté Cream Soda

The sun is shining (albeit sporadically), the blossom is…er…blossoming, and it’s time for nail polish to start getting a bit less deep’n’dark and a bit more light’n’bright. I don’t have a problem with burgundy nails in spring and summer but today felt like a day for something a little less heavy. Having said that, I’m also not a huge fan of traditional pastel shades, which always seem slightly ‘little girl’ to me (see also: pink glitter) so Ciaté Cream Soda is my compromise. A soft dove grey, it manages not to lean too lilac or too brown, and is a great replacement for my long-dead Mavala Elle Grey, if slightly less opaque. I put a coat of Essie’s Tuck it in my Tux as the first layer of colour and then whacked two coats of the Ciaté on top. It does streak a bit but surprisingly flattering and I rather like it as a change.

It’s currently reduced on the Ciaté website for £6.30.
