Guerlain Météorites Compact

meteoritesWell, isn’t this just lovely?

Sometimes you just need a pretty compact in your life and this Guerlain Météorites compact is the one for me. I’ve got shade 2 light, which is a mix of matte green, mauve, and pink for colour-correcting , and slightly shimmering champagne and white for luminosity. It’s a pressed version of their famous Meteorites pearls which I loved for years but never trusted myself with – a clumsy Mouse and spendy balls? Not a good combination. It would be lovely if the compact was metal but it’s some of the prettiest plastic casing I’ve seen. It also has a gorgeous violet scent, which is a tiny bit addictive…

I sweep it over my (non-existent) cheekbones and down my nose with a big fluffy brush and it just seems to add a bit of a perfecting glow without adding any colour. My little Jouer brush works pretty well for touch-ups throughout the day and fits into the dinky velvet pouch with the compact. You need such a light dusting that this is going to last for years, making it a bargain. Sort of.

Is it necessary? No. Am I glad I bought it? Hell yes.

Find the compact at Escentual for £36 and the brush at Cult Beauty for £11.
