As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to lipsticks and tend to stick to slightly paler muted pinks. I have been getting a little more adventurous but still rarely wear bright colours out of the house. Does anyone else get paranoid that people are staring at their mouths if they wear a bold lipstick? Anyway, this fuchsia number is Revlon Cherries in the Snow, which is a slightly lighter brighter version of Vera, and I like it a lot.
It is bold but it’s also surprisingly wearable, thanks to it’s blue undertone, which makes teeth look a tiny bit whiter. It’s one of Revlon’s creme shades which means that it feels comfortable on the lips – almost too comfortable, actually, as it has a slight tendency to slip and slide around. I like to line my lips with a clear liner, use a lip brush to apply it, blot, apply a thin extra layer, and then pat it down with my finger to take away some of the gleam and set it a bit. It’s a faff but it’s (just about) worth it for the colour and the fact that it doesn’t leave an ugly line when it fades.
Now I just have to wear it out of the house…
