Autumn makes me so happy. Sometimes it seems that I’m this time of year’s version of Buddy the Elf – Autumn’s biggest cheerleader. I love the changing leaves, the cooler temperatures, the fact that it’s my birthday in October, and the abundance of hot chocolate. It’s also the time of year that work quietens down for both Mr Mouse and I so that we can get away for a week or so. I’m writing this sat, not in the kitchen sink, but in the depths of a giant sofa in our Scottish holiday cottage’s bedroom, in front of a roaring fire. It’s bliss.
My five happiest happy things:
- The aforementioned cottage with both an open fire and a wood-burning stove.
- The smell of woodsmoke.
- Muddy walks in the forest. It’s pretty rainy but this amazingly snuggly coat from Seasalt has kept me warm and dry.
- The chance to get stuck in to the stack of books I have with me; especially looking forward to this and this.
- Playing with my new Olympus Pen E-PL8. She’s called Betty and I love her.
