Spring shopping list

Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil Rose Lemonade text

Guess who’s back, back again? Mouse’s back, tell your…..yeah, ok, sorry. Definitely not cool enough to pull that intro off.

It’s been quiet around here for the last couple of weeks – starting a new job is always hectic, especially when you’re in a new city, and I have to admit that most of my evenings have involved curling up with wine, Mel and/or Sue, and some Real Housewives. However, I’m getting used to everything and am trying to get back to typing about lipstick, face oil, cats, and the joy of new socks. Since we’re now officially in Spring, despite the rain battering down outside, I thought I’d be really original and put together a Spring shopping/wish list. Enjoy.

  1. I like a cream blusher and the Lancôme Cushion Blush Subtil in Rose Lemonade is such a fresh purdy shade. I’ve swatched it when I’ve been passing a counter and it blends out really well so I wouldn’t end up looking like a clown.

  2. I haven’t worn a watch for years – I have a lovely Tissot one that was a 21st present but I’ve had a bit of a saga trying to get links added to the bracelet, so I’ve stuck to using my phone. This lovely Olivia Burton Queen Bee watch would be perfect for me – subtle but with a bit of a twist. And I love bees 🐝

  3. I also love flamingoes (I would like to point out that I’ve liked since before they became trendy. Tsk), and stripes are the one, so this cute top from Sugarhill Boutique is ideal. The little pink pair look so loved-up and happy.

  4. This post seems to be a list of creatures that I adore, because here’s an almost-T-rex from Sophie Hulme. He’s not quite the right shape (bit too upright, bit too skinny), but he looks friendly and like a safe (and tiny) pair of hands for your keys.

  5. I love a good face spray and the new setting spray from Cover FX sounds fantastic. It’s alcohol-free (v. important but also rare) and leaves a subtle gleam – make sure to shake it well.

  6. My routine when I get home from work is basically ‘bra off, pjs on’, but most of my pyjamas are too warm and cosy for when Spring really gets going. These lightweight satiny ones from Asos are super pretty and looks cool enough for summer. They come in various prints but I really like navy and stars so…

  7. The Delicious Rhubarb and Rose ‘flavour’ from Molton Brown is bloody fabulous; it smells just like the Edinburgh Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur tastes. I have the hand wash and see no reason not to get the matching candle, for maximum rhubarb scentification (totally a word).

  8. The launch of the first foundations from The Ordinary is rather exciting, especially as they’re under £6 and available in a pretty hefty 21 shades per formula. I’ve liked a lot of the skincare from this brand and am looking forward to giving these a go – the palest looks really pale! Hurrah!

  9. My favourite sunglasses are a black ‘Sugar and Spice’ pair from Quay Australia, which I really should have bought two of when they were available. These, from Cheap Monday, are the closest I can find this year. Plus, I like a bit of tortoiseshell.

  10. I’ve wanted the Nars Dual-Intensity shadow in Kari since seeing this video; it’s such a pretty shade and more understated than most of the other colours in the range, the majority of which are super-shimmery/metallic. It was from the Spring collection last year but is still available at Feel Unique.

  11. I’ve come to the end of my beloved Emma Hardie cleanser and fancy a change, and the Su-man Cleansing Gel-Oil sounds fabulous as a second cleanse. It’s spendy but should last for ages.

  12. Finally, Spring is definitely not a time to be without an umbrella and this one from Cath Kidston has the cutest London print to remind me of ‘home’ and is compact enough to chuck in most bags.
